Today I completed chapter 15 in the Lynda.com Illustrator CC 2013 One-on-One: Intermediate corse.

Chapter 15|Lesson 7: Creating a NEW pattern based on an existing one.

For this lesson I Created or rather Edited the Sea Spirals pattern to create 3 differently closed designs.(Circus seas was the one i was told to do, the other two were for practice.)

Chapter 15|Lesson 8: Applying patterns to strokes and text.

For this lesson I Learned how to add a pattern to test, and how to use different patterns to create a almost 3D looking effect in illustrator.

For this Design I used the Murky Seas pattern, the Sea Spirals pattern, and the White strokes pattern, along with the SEA text.

Murky Seas fill with a Sea Spirals Stroke.

Added a Drop shadow and inner glow.

Added the White Strokes pattern to the black text, then added the same effects to the image that I had added to the Stroke to finish up the design of the image.

Chapter 15|Lesson 9: Moving and Transforming patterns.

Chapter 15|Lesson 10: Fixing problem legacy patterns.

For this pattern that was created in an older version of illustrator all I had to do was gel eat the clipping mask to get rid of the red seam shown in the image below.
