Today I worked on a Halloween Horror picture inspired be the Infamies “Silent Hill” series, I mean the game series not the spin-off movie adaptations…
Original PlayStation 1: Silent Hill game cover (United States Variation.)
Now the cover dissent look all so scary, but thats the brilliance of it, to me it still looks like a straight up 90’s mystery game cover instead of a horror game…
Here’s some Facts on why the game is so scary:
Silent Hill was a pretty big nonlinear path game (meaning the ways to pass the puzzles in the game could be completed in different order, and thus had no definite order in which to be solved.) and for a console like the PlayStation, witch could run larger games plus handle most basic 3D rendering, the game was still to large to run, or rather the system could not handle the large rendering of such a large town, and to combat that problem the Konagi decided to cap (cut off) the Draw Rate (How many polygons are rendered by the system at once) but a problem still existed for the team, with the draw rate now capped the “Draw Line” (the line were the game stopes polygonal rendering or Drawing polygons) was now visible so one final this was to be done…add heavy fog right before the draw line so it was no longer visible…and they solved another problem in the process…Were wo hide the monsters…
The Draw line is barely visible in this image and in the Gif below…

My Cover(s):
Heavy photo editing (B/W)
Light photo editing (B/W)
This used poster edges, the art history brush, and the Hue/saturation adjustment layers…
Medium Photo Editing (B/W)
This one makes me look like I have burn scars on my face…
Medium Photo Editing (Color)
I had forgotten to added in the Konagi logo…and went in and added it:
